A few week back Jailbreakme 3.0 was released for iOS 4.3.3, those who were lucky enough to Jailbreak their iPAD2′s and iphone4′s will thank themselves for doing so.

Apple has patched the jailbreak exploit with iOS 4.3.4 release. So stay away from this update, until iphone-dev team comes up with a solution.

Guys at RMP have found out that iPhone Untethered Jailbreak will not release until the 4.3.1 is released.

Also on the Unlock Situation, there will be more waiting (can be months again :( ) so that guys at the dev-team figure out a way to unlock the iPhone4 basebands.

Folks who are already unlocked need to stay away from this 4.3 update.

So folks, who had software unlocks on their phones (and had been patient enough to not Update to 4.2.1), will have another reason to be happy. Pwnage Tool and Sn0wbreeze has been released today. Follow the links and you will see guides of how to do this.

“Official iPhone unlock statement: no unlock will be released until after 4.2.5 or official 4.3 (whichever is last) is out”  - End of all rumors.

So there is some hope that iPhone 4′s will be unlocked pretty soon. A big sigh of relief for many people.


Quick Boot trick for tethered iDevices

To cut short the process of selecting the correct ipsw, you can now use shortcut to do that for you. Save you a little time, if not anything.

  • Get the latest Redsnow from here
  • Get your desired IPSW from here
  • Extract it to your desktop. (in my case it is extracted in C:\Users\John\Desktop\redboot\redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc7b)
  • Copy the ipsw to this folder to make life easy.
  • U will see a shortcut in that folder “boot-ipt4g”, right click and select properties.
  • Set Target as : redsn0w.exe -j -i “iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw”
  • Set start in : C:\Users\john\Desktop\redboot\redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc7b
  • Hit ok and You are done!
  • Double click “boot-ipt4g” and bam the ipsw load etc all is done for you. You know what to do next.

The above process is for iphone 4 on 4.2.1 the ipsw and directory WILL be different for you.  Enjoy!

Unthered Jailbreak for iPhone4 is coming Christmas weekend

Musclenerd of dev-team fame has mentioned that they are working to release iPhone4 untethered jailbreak (backup plan) this weekend. They are releasing a MAC only version – a win port with come up soon as soon as testing is done on MAC version. So stay tuned.

Ultra Snow Unlock
  • Get the latest redsn0w beta6 here
  • Then get your correct current 4.2.1 firmware from here
  • Hit up redsn0w and point to your firmware you got in (2)
  • Install Ultrasn0w 2 and get the unlock!

    • What this actually does is upgrades the baseband on iphone with baseband of ipad 3.2.2 (which is still unlock vulnerable) – Make sure u keep the iPhone connected to powersource / PC/Mac at all times when flashing the baseband.
