What this actually does is upgrades the baseband on iphone with baseband of ipad 3.2.2 (which is still unlock vulnerable) – Make sure u keep the iPhone connected to powersource / PC/Mac at all times when flashing the baseband.
Apple is ready to release 4.2, so if you want to ever roll back to untethered 4.1, save the iOS 4.1 SHSH blobs.

A very great news for all the iDevice owners (Iphone 3G, 3GS, $), iPad, iTouch devices.
SHAtter is expected the name of the exploit found by for jailbreaking iOS 4.1. Shatter is also rumored to be tethered (you need to connect to computer after every reboot 
– still a speculation ) Jailbreak which jailbreaks all existing iOS idevices forever including iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. Shatter will be a low-level bootrom exploit which will allow the use of unsigned code execution in order to jailbreak all iDevices for life even the iPhone 4 and the latest iPod Touch 4G. This is not publicly available though, but the iPhone Dev Team and the Chronic Team is working hard to release the exploits.
So sit tight, something is coming out soon.
Its here friends, as the baseband unlock for 4.1 is not released yet, if you want to update your 4.0.x without updating your baseband (and thus preserving the unlock), you can follow instructions posted HERE.
Proceed at your own risk. If you don’t have SHSH saved, do not even try!
BUT, BUT , BUT Keep in mind that you currently won’t be able to jailbreak (and therefore unlock) your iPhone 4 /3GS on iOS 4.1, even though, you preserved the original baseband.
Good news it that, there has been reports that the bootrom exploit will be available soon.
Apple has officially released the iOS 4.1 released today ‘September 8′ with a lot of features some of which being HDR photos, HD recording, Ping to name a few. Itunes will try to offer you the update with out a much of fanfare DON’T hit update or OK. For users who rely on Jailbreak to use their iPhones in Nepal need to stay away from this update for now. There’s currently no known way to revert your baseband — if you update your baseband you’ll lose the ultrasn0w unlock, possible forever.
There has already been a news around that a bootrom exploit has been discovered by the dev-team to jailbreak the new iOS 4.1. So sit tight and wait. Patience always pays back.
Apple announced new iTunes 10 with its new logo on Sept 1, in their musical event. it comes with many advancements in view and music organization. Has also added a social interaction on it called “Ping”.
I tested it with an attempt to activate my iPhone 16gb 3GS 4.0.1, no problem. Just did it correctly. But stay away from the 4.0.2 and 4.1 coming next week.

Today’s Apple’s “show” was yet another successful one. Apple has come up with a completely new line up of iPod touches, nano and shuffle, Just in time for the holiday season.
The most welcome part of the announcements was the new iPod touch with Two cameras with facetime and the much hyped retina display. Its much thinner and records HD video. It is available for order from today and starts delivering next week.
iOS 4.1 will be available for at iDevices next week and new iTunes with Social Networking features (Ping) is available right NOW! for all the users.
For those using Jailbreak and unlocked iPhones, they should stay away from the iOS 4.1 and iTunes 10 until advised to do so. You have been warned!
Dev-Team will not be pursuing the firmwares 4.0.2/3.2.2 as they said “will there be a jailbreak for devices that shipped with 4.0.2/3.2.2, out of the box? No, there won’t be.”
Firmware 4.0.2/3.2.2 was *only* released to fix the jailbreakme hole – the PDF exploit used to Jailbreak using the super easy tool.
Apple is holding a media event on September 1, where they are slated to announce the new iOS4.1,iPod Touch, iTV etc. Looks like a lot of exciting announcements to come.
For those who have their iPhone’s blobs saved can use Saurik’s server to reuse the exploit to unlock. For others, sorry, you were warned. Just sit back and wait for the new release to be out. There is nothing much that can be done. Time to use the good-old nokia phone.
